Our Story
For us, stone is more than just material. We see it as stories of beauty, strength, and timelessness that deserve to be part of spaces where memories are made. We believe in building lasting relationships – with land, artisans, and people behind each piece. Our story is not about what we produce. It is about how we do it.
We began modestly in 1986 when an ambitious entrepreneur and visionary, Raj Bazaz, laid the foundation for what has become a leading force in the Indian natural stone industry. Over four decades, this legacy has been built on innovation, strategic expansion, and a commitment to excellence.
Foundation Years (1986-1996)
1986: Raj Bazaz creates the first stone-cutting template, marking the company’s birth. That same year, our exports began with our first international partner.
1994: Discoveries in Rajasthan brought sandstone, resembling traditional English York stone, into the spotlight. Collaborative efforts also led to the identification of buff sandstone and brown sandstone, which would later define our product portfolio.
Building Roots (1998-2002)
1998: We opened our first office in Mumbai, followed by a landmark order from one of the UK’s largest natural stone suppliers.
1999: We purchased our first stockyard in Mumbai, which provided infrastructure for further growth.
2000: We established a foothold with a yard in Kota and began quarrying operations in central India. These quarries became the cornerstone of our operations, with buff sandstone as our flagship offering. The same year, we opened our second office in Mumbai.
Expanding Horizons (2003-2008)
2003: We expanded our stock-keeping facility in Mumbai.
2005: We opened our third office in one of Mumbai’s major central business districts, currently serving as the company’s headquarters. We also launched other key factories.
2006: Innovations such as stone calibration, surface shot blasting, and sawing sandstone began, cementing our leadership in cutting-edge stone processing.
Driving Innovation (2009-2015)
2009: We introduced advanced technologies like multi-blade circular saws, in-house diamond segment brazing, and the first water-blasting machine for stone.
2014: Surface treatments such as flaming and bush hammering became in-house capabilities.
2015: Italian vacuum-aided heavy lifters were introduced, raising safety and efficiency standards.
Developing Global Footprint (2016-2020)
2016: Iconic international projects in London showcased our capabilities on the global stage.
2018: Expanded our product line to include schist, basalt, and black granite.
Future Built on Strength (2019-Now)
2019: Investments in modern machinery, stockyards, and innovative processes continue to fuel our growth.
2023: Our first supply and installation project for a renowned public monument in India.
2024: The launch of our Experience Centre in Mumbai marks a new chapter in our story.
